The HomeSolar SS316 uses grade 316 stainless steel for both the inner and outer tank. • Insulation: 50mm hard foam from Germany. Not all foam is equal. The German-sourced insulation used here is denser and more effective at retaining heat than cheaper alternatives.
• Vacuum tubes: 1800mm × 58mm × 1.6mm. Larger tubes absorb more solar energy, which means faster heating and better performance on partially cloudy days.
• Lifespan: 15–20 years. With a 7-year warranty on the tank and frame, and a 15-year warranty on the vacuum tubes, this is a long-term investment — not something you'll be replacing in 5 years.

Low Pressure or High Pressure — Which One Do You Need?

This is the question we get most often, and the answer depends on your home's plumbing setup.

Low-pressure systems work on gravity. The tank sits above your taps, and water flows down naturally. They're simpler, more affordable, and work well in the majority of Mauritian homes — especially single-storey houses or those with a roof tank already in place.

High-pressure systems use a pump and a copper coil inside the tank to pre-heat water. They're compatible with pressurised plumbing and are the right choice for multi-storey homes, villas, or properties where the tank can't be positioned above the water outlets. The high-pressure model also supports an optional electric heater backup — useful for extended cloudy periods.
